Physical Education
Faculty of Physical Education and Sports Science, Sadra was established in the year 1989 in the historic village of Sadra in Gandhinagar district. It is situated on the banks of Sabarmati River. The faculty began offering Bachelor of Physical Education (BPE ) program from the academic year 1989-90. Later on, BPE was renamed as Bachelor of Physical Education and Sports (BPES) from the year 2017. This programme is approved by University Grants Commission (UGC). Bachelor of Physical Education (BPEd) program began in the year 1996. This program has an approved curriculum directed by National Council of Teacher Education (NCTE).
Master of Physical Education (MPED) program started in the year 1994. This program has an approved curriculum directed by National Council of Teacher Education (NCTE). The department and faculty strive to develop the concept of physical education on the lines of Gandhian philosophy and seeks to contribute towards building a healthy society.bSpecial Features : All modern sports facilities in 37 acre premises, Smart classes (with projector and internet facility), Boys Hostel, Girls Hostel, Library, Advanced Research Laboratory of Physical Education and Sports, Playground with modern facilities for all sports, Gymnasium, Multi-gym Hall, Traditional sports facilities (Malkham, Wrestling and Rope Malkham), Canteen, Prayer Hall and Sports Stadium.

Eligibility Criteria: Graduation in any Discipline: Candidates belonging to Unreserved (UR), must have secured at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA and at least participation in the inter college / inter zonal/ district / school competition in sports and games as recognized by the AIU/IOA/SGFI/ Govt. of India. A relaxation of 5% marks will be given to the candidates belonging to SC, ST and OBC-NCL categories.
