Prof. (Dr.) Niraj T. Sheth, Ph.D. in Microbiology joined the Department as Assistant Professor in the year 1998. Since joining he is engaged in teaching, research, guidance and extension activities. His major areas of research are applied microbiology, bioremediation, PGPR, assessing natural, semi-synthetic and other synthetic compounds for antimicrobial activity, anti microbial resistance and solid state fermentations.

He has successfully guided more than 30 M.Sc. students. He has completed one minor and two major research projects funded by GUJCOST and GSBTM. He has published several research papers in reputed journals at national and international level.

Dr. Mayur C. Shah, M.Sc., Ph.D. in Chemistry, M.Ed., M.Phil. in Education, is professor at Chemistry Department since 1998. Since joining he is engaged in teaching, research, extension and science popularizing activities. His teaching interest includes organic chemistry as well as analytical chemistry. He was awarded GSA-L.J. Institutes Undergraduate Chemical Sciences Teacher Award for the Year-2016 by Hon. Mr. Vijay Rupani (Former Chief Minister of Gujarat ) on behalf of Gujarat Science Academy. His primary research interest is in the field of metal complex, water analysis, soil analysis, natural acid-base indicator, natural acid-base indicator, composting. He has guided 4 Ph.D. students, as well as presented research papers in various national and international conferences and published several research articles in journal of repute. He has completed one research project funded by Department of Biotechnology, New Delhi and also received funds from Gujarat Vidyapith, Ahmedabad to complete various research projects on water quality study. He has played role as an author/reviewer/translator in more than 50 school level books of science/chemistry published by Gujarat State School Textbook Board, Gandhinagar. Gujarat Vidyapith has published his created content on periodic table as a book entitled ‘તો બોલો હું કોણ છું?’. He has written 43 scripts for radio serial ‘Agandhara’, 26 scripts for radio serial ‘Aho!Rasayan’, and 26 scripts for radio serial ‘Paramanu Yatra’. He has visited primary schools in 50 villages of different talukas of Gujarat and demonstrated simple/innovative science experiments by participating in the Padyatra organized by Gujarat Vidyapith. He has contributed a key role in organizing more than 10 NSS camps.

Prof. (Dr.) Prateek Shilpkar, Ph.D. in Soil Science has joined the Department as Assistant Professor in the year 2002. Since joining, he is engaged in teaching, research, guidance, and extension activities. His major areas of research are- Soil Science and Agricultural Chemistry, Soil and Applied Microbiology, Biogas Technology and Fermentation Technology. He has successfully guided 7 Ph.D., 7 M.Phil. and more than 100 M.Sc. students. He has completed a research project funded by Department of Biotechnology, New Delhi and also received funds from various institutions viz. Gujarat Argo Industries Corporation, Ahmedabad; VIKSAT, Nehru foundation for Development, Ahmedabad; and Gujarat Vidyapith, Ahmedabad to complete various research projects on Biogas technology, solid waste management and water quality study. He has published several research papers in reputed journals at national and international level. He has also organized many workshops and trainings on Foldscope and Biogas plant constructions.

Mrs. Priti K Shukla, M.Phil in Microbiology, has joined the Department as Assistant Professor in the year 1996. Since joining she is engaged in teaching, research, guidance and extension activities. Her major areas of research are- Applied Microbiology, Fermentation Technology , Environmental Microbiolgy and Industrial Microbiology. She has successfully guided more than 18 M.Sc. students and 50 B.Sc. students for project work. She keeps herself engaged with the students of the development for their bright carrier. She has participated in many national and international conferences and presented oral and poster of microbiological research work. She has organized many cultural programmes in the department.

Dr. Kaushik R. Patel (M.Sc., Ph.D. - Physics), is an Associate Professor of Physics in the Department, where he has been working since 2011. He has been engaged in Teaching, Research and Extension activities. He has taught subjects like Physics, Environmental education, Gandhian thought, Biostatistics, Bio instrumentation etc. His research interests cover the field of condensed matter physics, the effect of magnetic field on pre sowing seeds, effect of music on plants etc. Under his guidance 03 students completed their Ph.D. and 02 research scholars have earned M.Phil. At present 03 scholars are pursuing Ph.D. under his guidance. He has published 43 research articles in various well known international journals and published 05 books with international publisher. He has presented 40 research papers in various national and international Seminar/conferences. He has also been the NSS program officer since 2018. He has organized and participated in 07 NSS camps in various villages. He has also organized 09 blood donation camps and donated blood more than 27 times. He has wide administration experience in the academic branch.

Arvindkumar Dungrechiya,M.Sc. Microbiology,CSIR NET Exam has a professional experience of 15 years in teaching, research and extension activities since 2010. His areas of interest include General Microbiology, Food Microbiology, Environmental Microbiology, Water Microbiology, and Medical Microbiology, with a specialization in Environmental and Water Microbiology. He has published 12 research papers in reputed national journals. He has also guided 25 postgraduate students contributing to the academic growth of students.To enhance his expertise, he has attended multiple orientation programs, refresher courses, short-term courses, and training sessions relevant to his field. Apart from academics and research, he has actively participated in extension activities such as NSS (National Service Scheme) and Padyatra, demonstrating his commitment to community service and social awareness.
