Department of Food and Nutrition is one of the departments of Faculty of Science and Applied Science. This department offers M.Sc. program in Food and Nutrition since June-2024. Previously this department was known as Department of Home Science. Department of Home Science has 40 years old history. Department of Food and Nutrition has well established laboratory. Students get in-depth understanding of the advance topics of Food Science and Nutrition.

Eligibility: A candidate who has obtained the degree of Bachelor of Science (Home Science) Foods and Nutrition/Food Science & Quality Control or B.Sc. Biochemistry / Microbiology / Industrial Microbiology / Biotechnology / Genetics / Bio- informatics / Medical laboratory technology / Agriculture / Horticulture / Food Science / Food technology/Dairy Science or B. Tech Dairy technology/Food Processing Technology/Zoology or Botany of any other University recognized as equivalent thereto or B.Sc. (Honours) with Home Science with special papers in Foods and Nutrition or any other examination recognized (Under 10+2+3 System) as equivalent thereto will be eligible for admission to M.Sc. Foods and Nutrition
